CASTLE FARM SPINNEY BUG HOUSE AND WOODLAND PATH

A local resident has kindly offered to build the frame for a small “bug house” at the Castle Farm Spinney. The Spinney is a small wooded area that runs between Wyatt Road and Burnham Close. It’s a nice open space that‘s well used by walkers and dog walkers. It is also home to many bugs and insects. A bug house is a good way to encourage and protect different types of insects at the spinney.

I need some help building the bug house during the Easter break. I will also be “topping up” the woodland path with bark chips.

I have asked the Royal Borough’s nature officer to come along and help explain about how a bug house works.

If you would like to get involved in improving the Spinney during the Easter holidays, please get in touch with me.
