Council staff are due to start work on constructing defences against unauthorised traveller encampments at Whiteley and Ballard Green on 3rd Dec. It’s expected that this will take up to two weeks to complete, but I suspect that this work may be weather dependent.
The temporary trench at Whiteley will be filled in and a “bund” or small mound constructed at both Whiteley and Ballard Green to prevent future incursions.
No guarantees are offered regarding future incursions, but hopefully this work will stop unauthorised encampments in this part of Dedworth in the future.
I am pleased that both Whiteley and Ballard Green will have some protection before the summer months.
We still need to strengthen the existing defences at Dedworth Manor and consider what’s needed on the rest of Maidenhead Road but I will continue to keep residents updated.
